Morgan Furtado Ms. Lehman English 1-1A 20 March 2019 As You Like It Response At school, we watched a play called As You Like It, by William Shakespeare. The company that came and gave the show was called Shakespearience. I really liked the play. It was funny to watch, and it was serious at some moments. The people who acted in the play brought a different feel to it. They put their heart and soul into that play. I like the set and props that they used in the play. They didn’t have that much, but it gave the play something that it usually wouldn’t have. All the 80’s prints and the grass on the boxes. I wouldn’t use the boxes, but maybe it was all that they could get ahold of. Then, the stairs that they used. It looked the same, but they gave it a different job in a different settings. Plus, all the banners that they used at different times showed who was in charged. I really like the costumes. They may have looked weird, but they gave the characters a better feel for me. Phoebe loved music and that is how she dressed. She had the big 80’s hair and the big tutu. Then Orlando was dressed more like a popular guy would dress in light blue jeans and a shirt that cut off at the shoulders. Another thing that I thought was good in the play was the acting. The actors really cared and got into the mood to give the play a nice feel. He felt like a play that you would have to pay to get into. We had a bell go off in the play, and they made it look like it was a sound in a forest. They took the play seriously and made it funny at the same time. In conclusion, I really like the play and would only change one thing in it. That would be the boxes in the set that they used. I would only change that one thing. I think that it would make it better.
